महाराष्ट्र पशु व मत्स्य विज्ञान विद्यापीठ, नागपुर अंतर्गत स्नातकोत्तर पशुवैद्यक व पशुविज्ञान संस्था, अकोला या घटक महाविद्यालयात सन 2006-07 या शैक्षणिक सत्रा पासुन निम्न शिक्षण विभागा मार्फत ” पशुधन व्यवस्थापन व दुग्धोत्पादन पदविका अभ्यासक्रम” हा द्विवार्षीक पदविका अभ्यासक्रम विद्यापीठामार्फत सुरू करण्यात आला आहे. या विभागाअंतर्गत सन 2019-20 मध्ये विद्यापीठाने मान्यता प्रदान केलेल्या एकुण 14 खाजगी विनाअनुदानीत संस्था/विद्यालये यांचे मार्फत सदर अभ्यासक्रम चालविण्यात येत आहे.
 
हा अभ्यासक्रम पशुधनावर आधारीत असुन त्यामध्ये गाय म्हैस पालन, शेळी मेंढी पालन तसेच दुग्ध उत्पादन संकलन व प्रक्रीया केंद्र, दुग्धजन्य पदार्थ निर्मीती केंद्र ईत्यादी मध्ये लागणारे व्यवस्थापकीय सहाय्यक, प्रक्षेत्रा सहाय्यक, तांत्रीक सहाय्यक आणि पशुधन पर्यवेक्षक अशा प्रकारचे तांत्रीक मनुष्यबळ निर्माण करणे तसेच पशुधनावर आधारीत स्वत:चे व्यवसाय, उद्योग सुरू करण्यासाठी तरूणांना तांत्रीक बाबीचे मार्गदर्शन/प्रशिक्षण देणे आणि जिल्हा परीषदेमध्ये पशुधन पर्यवेक्षक या पदासाठी हा अभ्यासक्रम लागु करण्यात आला आहे.
 
पदविका विद्यालयात प्रथम वर्षासाठी प्रवेश क्षमता 54 आणी व्यवस्थापन कोटयातुन 6 विद्यार्थ्याना प्रवेश दिला जातो. सदर अभ्यासक्रमाच्या प्रवेशा करीता किमान शालांत परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण असणे अनिवार्य आहे.
 
सदर अभ्यासक्रमाच्या प्रवेश प्रक्रीया, प्रथम व द्वितीय वर्षाच्या वार्षिक /पुरवणी परीक्षा घेणे व त्यावर नियंत्राण ठेवणे, निकाल तयार करणे तसेच दरवर्षी पदविका महाविद्यालयांची पुनर्मान्यता संदर्भात तपासणी करणे, ईत्यादी कामे निम्न शिक्षण विभागामार्फत केल्या जातात.
