About Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology

The Department of Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology was established in 1974 at PGIVAS, Akola. Previously this Department was working together with the Department of Veterinary Medicine, however, after establishment of MAFSU at Nagpur in year 2000, the Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology was separated in the year 2003 and started working as an independent Discipline. The Department is actively involved in Teaching, Research & Extension. The Department is imparting education and carrying research exclusively to PG students for the degree course Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc). The Department up till now conducted six Agency Sponsored Schemes.

The Faculty of this Department also takes part in various extension activities viz. delivering extension services through radio talks, participating in Animal health camps and by publishing popular articles in local language. The faculty is also acting as experts and delivering talks in various training programmes.
