Department of Poultry Science

The Post Graduate programme M.V.Sc in Poultry Production was started in Predecessor University i.e. Panjabrao Krishi Vidyapeeth ,Akola in 1971. The department has also established a poultry farm initially with one brooder house, two layer houses, feed mill unit and office block to cater the need of PG students and staff research programme. In 1976, AICRP on Poultry for meat ICAR Project has started with three brooder houses, four layer houses, one grower house, Thus annual capacity of this farm has gone up to maintaining about 1500-2000 layers and 8000-10,000 broiler birds. Till date 71 students have completed their M.V.Sc research work.
