TEACHING VETERINARY CLINICAL COMPLEX
Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex is an independent unit with separate staff of the hospital. The objective of this unit is to provide facilities for quality of case management and broaden the learning experience of the P.G. Students regarding the handling, examination, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of clinical cases in various species of animals reporting to the hospital. The TVCC is also providing the routine veterinary health care service to the Instructional Buffalo Farm of P.G.I.V.A.S. Akola and farm animals of dairy and research stations of Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krushi Vidypeeth, Akola. It is a well known referral Veterinary clinic of Western Vidarbha region, accepting challenging cases from field Veterinarian, Veterinary professionals from Dist. Bulthana, Wahim, Akola, Amaravati.
EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
1) Staff of TVCC has been organizing and actively participating in livestock health camps/exhibition/ seminars/training/ workshops/ farmers meet etc. 2) Staff of TVCC also Involve  in transfer of technology through AIR and TV Channel. 3) Dissemination of information to farmers and livestock owners through extension literature such as popular articles in local newspaper and magazines, folders, leaflets, bulletin etc. 4) Involve in ‘Pashuvahini’ – queries of farmers and livestock owners from district Washim, Amaravati, Akola, Bulthana. 5) Organizing training programmes /workshop/seminars for field veterinarians and veterinary professionals. 6) Staff of TVCC involve in extension activities carried out under ‘Adopted Villages. 7) Department has been organizing and participating the functions of Celebration of important events such as ‘World Veterinary Day’ , ‘World Rabies Day’ , ‘World Tuberculosis day’ World Zoonoses Day’ etc.

SERVICES RENDERED TO ANIMAL OWNERS
  1. This hospital is providing the facilities of diagnosis, therapeutic and surgical management of clinical cases in various species of animals reporting to the hospital.
  2. The TVCC is providing the free of cost veterinary health care service to farm animals of Department of Animal husbandry and Diary and research stations of Dr. P.D.K.V. Akola and Instructional Buffalo farm of PGIVAS, Akola.
  3. It is the known referral centre in Western-Vidharbha region, accepting challenging cases from field Veterinarian, Veterinary professionals from Dist: Bulthana, Washim, Amaravati and Akola.
  4. The TVCC is also involved in organization of animal health camps and training programmes for field Veterinarians and professionals.

  3. Residential facility for staff members.
  4. Organization of animal health camps and training programmes, seminars, conferences  for field Veterinarian and Professionals.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:

 

The staff of TVCC has been involved in research programs of clinical and para-clinical departments as a major and minor advisor, Principal Investigator, Co-worker and Co-PI’s of research schemes and projects. Area of research is based on area specific and need based research. More emphasis will be given on diagnosis and therapeutic measures to improve livestock health and production. Most of the research work is carried on clinical cases reporting to TVCC and during ambulatory clinical services and field.
